Special Cross-Talk: Ranmaru & Masato & Ren

All of the translations linked here are my own work. Please DO NOT re-post or screenshot my work without permission.

There are four joint interviews with each of the senior-junior units about the "photoshoot" for the front and back covers of the 5th Anniversary Book. All interviews answer the same four questions.

The Ranmaru, Masato & Ren interview can be found on pages 140 and 141.

Special Cross Talk: Post-Photoshoot Interview

In this cover photoshoot are Ranmaru, Masato and Ren, each competing through three distinct poses.
It’s becoming a conversation in which a slightly improved relationship since the Master Course can be seen.
To work together smoothly at vital times as their personalities seem to clash, such a lively talk between the three of them is a must-see.

--First, in regards to the cover photoshoot, how was it this time?

Ren: It looks like everyone assembled and took the photo together, but actually we were divided up. Our jumps were photographed well, I’d say.

Masato: Having to jump on the trampoline every time they’d take a picture made the photoshoot more physically exhausting than usual.

Ranmaru: Using the muscles you normally don’t use made your body ache in unusual places afterwards.

Ren: Ran-chan, you were pretty intense.

Ranmaru: Well when you’re told to jump, there’s nothin’ to do but to jump with all your might, right? That’s what the theme is this time.

Masato: Kurosaki-san’s jumping was wonderful. In comparison, I didn’t do so well due to the feeling of my feet being unstable.

Ren: That’s for sure. Thanks to you we had to do it a number of times, it was a real nuisance. But in spite of that you were able to relax and do the photoshoot.

Masato:......hmph. Since you were jumping at your own pace the rhythm being in disarray was also a factor.

Ranmaru:All this squawkin' is noisy. Both Masato and Ren both took decent photos, you two should be glad the results came out good.

Masato: Kurosaki-san......Thank you for complimenting us!

Ren: Certainly, from the photo you can’t even tell there was that kind of interaction, huh.

Ranmaru: Yeah. But if you didn’t have that kind of troublesome back and forth with each other it woulda come out even better.

Masato: Understood. We’ll be careful next time.

--Tell us an inside story about the photoshoot, if there is one.

Ranmaru: We just talked about this, but just from knockin' into each other a little bit, these two would get into a little spat and they ended up takin' longer than the other groups.

Ren: Like I said, that’s because Hijirikawa would stagger and bump into me!

Masato: Is it not because YOU would step on my foot upon landing?!

Ranmaru: And that’s why I was sayin' that this is annoying. You’re not kids, watch yourselves.

Masato: I apologize. I’m reflecting on my actions.

Ren: Not just about us, let’s also talk about Ran-chan. What really riled up the place were the shots where your necktie would block your face even when your poses looked great.

Ranmaru: We don’t need to talk about that.

--I believe you had to live together as Master Course senior and junior, but even now do you have exchanges in your private lives?

Ranmaru: Not much really. ‘Specially not the three of us together, right?

Ren: If it’s either Ran-chan or myself, or Ran-chan and Hijirikawa, I’d say there’s a few cases.

Masato: Yes, Kurosaki-san still gives us guidance even now.

Ranmaru: Right now there’s no need for the three of us to open up our schedules to meet.

Ren: On top of that we see each other plenty at work.

--Do you check each other’s activities?

Masato: Of course. I especially take a look at all of Kurosaki-san’s activities.

Ren: I check as well. I’ll record things in advance and watch little by little when I have time.

Ranmaru: Eh, really?

Ren: You don't look?

Ranmaru: ......not at all.

Masato: Hey, Jinguji. Kurosaki-san is busy, don’t be absurd.

Ranmaru: Nah, sorry about that.

--Lastly, please offer a message to all of your fans.

Masato: The support from you all has been able to reach here. From now on as well I intend to continue my efforts in order to answer to your expectations.

Ren: It would make me happy if you ladies happened to enjoy our conversation even a little bit. I wish for your smiles.

Ranmaru: I can’t say it well, but I’m always grateful. Let’s keep going to the end of the world together.

Translator's Notes

I changed "actions" to "activities" in the fourth question. I'm not really sure why I used the first word but after doing three of these interviews I realized that "activities" is much more fitting. I've also changed the word for the two interviews I translated before this.

For Ranmaru's lines I translated them into standard English and then modified it to reflect his brusque manner of speaking, but not too much to make him sound rude since this is in the context of an interview. Ren is still one of the more difficult characters when it comes to trying to convert his manner of speaking in Japanese into an equivalent form of English. So far this is my favorite group interview! I thought it was really entertaining--I loved Masato's polite apologies and I thought it was really cute when Ranmaru expressed some regret about not paying attention to what the others produce.
