About

I've only been a fan of Uta no Prince-sama since 2015, but I've fallen in love and quickly involved myself in everything from the anime to the games to the merchandise. Coming from a family of music enthusiasts and having been an avid listener of J-Music since I was very young, I found a deep connection with the music of UtaPri, which sounds like nothing else that I had heard from anime or Japanese games.

As I transitioned from the anime to the games, I discovered that what seemed like a superficial reverse harem turned out to be a group of boys with complex personalities. While parts of them seem pretty unrealistic when compared to men in real life, I also found a commonality between their stories and my own life experiences. I just wanted to read cute love stories and work on my Japanese, but somehow I ended up learning more about myself as a person.

Talking so seriously like this makes me feel like Tokiya (who is one of my two favorite characters, not so much because I'd date him but more because he and I have a lot in common). So anyway...

Nearly ten years after struggling and failing to complete a successful translation of a Japanese magazine article, I've decided to take up translating excerpts from the Uta no Prince-sama 5th Anniversary Book. I know The UtaPri fandom is probably smaller than most, which is probably due to the fact that there is no English dub of the anime (understandably so) and not many English translations of the games. I hope that, by translating parts of the 5th Anniversary Book and other texts, I can offer something to current UtaPri fans who don't know Japanese, as well as generate interest for people looking into the series.

One of my weaknesses is leaving things unfinished (with the exception of cosplay and food--I will take home leftovers if I have to). While I may or may not have the entire book translated, I will at least have complete articles.

With that said, I hope you find this useful in learning more about your favorite idol!☆
