Translation Requests

This blog is focused mainly on the Uta no Prince-sama 5th Anniversary Book and requests are welcome as they give me some direction on which parts of the book interests readers. From time to time I also translate other UtaPri-related pieces, such as voice clips from merchandise and game excerpts. However, as I'm currently working by myself and on a volunteer basis, I can get overwhelmed easily when requests come in. I ask you to read these guidelines before sending me a request for a translation:
  • Please check to see if I am currently accepting requests. When my translation schedule is full I usually close requests in order to stay organized and not get overwhelmed.
  • The piece MUST be UtaPri-related. Voice actor/Staff interviews are not eligible if the interview is not related to UtaPri.
  • Please request ONE piece at a time! If you send me a load of stuff you want translated, I will only choose one or two. Consider sending me a donation of at least $10 if you want more.
  • 5th Anniversary Book requests will take priority over non-book requests.
  • The shorter it is, the better. Shorter pieces can be done a lot more quickly.
  • Requests I will NOT accept without a donation: Doujinshi/light novels, drama CDs, "Memories" (short stories) from UtaPri visual novels
Here are additional donation guidelines for certain types of translations:
  • Doujinshi: A $5 donation will cover a scanlation for a 30 to 40-page doujinshi if it is not R-18/hentai. Please consider donating more if the doujin is R-18. You must provide scans AND a photo proving that you own the doujinshi (I will not translate scanlations taken from the internet and reposted without the artist's permission)
  • Drama CDs: A $5 donation will cover 2-3 minutes of audio. If you can provide a script, it will go much faster.
  • Voice Actor Interviews: $10 will cover a 2-page magazine interview, and doesn't have to be about UtaPri but the seiyuu must be someone who is part of the UtaPri cast.
Finally, this is important: For all requests, please understand that translations that are done for free will be shared on my blog, Tumblr, and other social media. Donors have the option to be provided with translations privately, but must agree that I can post a short excerpt/sample on social media. For all translations, with or without a donation, if you share or re-post you must ask for permission and give proper credit. Please see the "Important Information" on the UTA☆PRITHM main page for details.

For doujinshi translations, PLEASE DO NOT RE-POST without my permission AND the artist's permission. While I am happy to translate fan works for people to read, I do not support the unauthorized posting of works from fan artists. The policy on translating doujinshi is pending, please check back later for updates.

I understand that this is a lot to read, but if you follow these guidelines it will help things go very smoothly and I will be much more eager to honor your request! If you have any questions you can reach me on Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr. Thank you!☆
